The Vespa velutina Expert Conference 2025 will take place on January 18, 2025, in Neustadt an der Weinstraße (Rhineland-Palatinate). A date not to be missed!

10:00 – 11:00 AM       Opening lecture: “Current situation, what lies ahead?” Country overview with experts and representatives from Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, and Luxembourg

11:00 – 12:15 PM       Division into two working groups:

1. Health & societal impacts
2. Biodiversity

12:15 – 1:30 PM         Lunch

1:30 – 2:45 PM           Division into two working groups:

3. Agriculture & beekeeping
4. Population management / Control

2:45 – 3:15 PM           Coffee break

Development of a final declaration

In preparation for the expert conference, a comprehensive survey and data collection will be conducted. After an introductory lecture on the current situation and an assessment for the next five years, we will collaboratively develop and expand expert knowledge in hybrid-moderated groups. At the conference, we will collaboratively address four different topics in working groups:

• Health & Societal Impacts
• Biodiversity
• Agriculture & Beekeeping
• Population Management / Control

We will use modern moderation and workshop methods to effectively consolidate knowledge and information and develop a joint outcome. At the end of the day, this will result in a joint final declaration and lay the foundation for further cross-border collaboration. A networking platform will also be introduced to enable the permanent connection of experts on this topic.
